Our Music Production Methods Music Production Workshop At the Beehouse we have the combined hardware, experience and musicianship to support and complement a wide range of musical projects. The majority of backings and even whole tracks can be programmed through Cubase midi under your supervision and guidance and then developed using superb musicianship or a wide array of up-to-date loops and samples. Not only do we have a very wide range of midi sounds...orchestral, electronic etc but our equipment includes the very latest dance technology to assist you in your musical production. In fact entire backings can be created for non- musician songwriters, leaving just the vocals to add. All work carried out by our midi/synth/sequencer technician is charged at a rate of £40 per hour. To give additional scope and range to the sounds we supply, Beehouse normally makes use of its own trained and highly competent musicians, who are generally on hand throughout working hours at a rate of £17-£30 per hour. Where other instrumentalists are required, we can supply session musicians at varying rates. Music Production Specialists Philip Lane, who is our principal engineer producer, has the experience of thirty years' in the music and recording business. To quote a recent customer "He seems able to play any instrument he chooses.....,intuitively knows what rhythm and instruments to go for and seems to have an almost encyclopaedic memory for sound......a joy to work with, and his arrangements and production underline his amazing talent." Jane Lane has now been involved in the music business for sixteen years and has produced a variety of projects, tapping into her main areas of interest - electro-pop, unique and eclectically-sourced production styles, and a strong classical training. Jane works at the root level on songwriting workshops, bringing tracks into a sound structure, and adding direction from this early stage. The Beehouse Production Team is conversant with the up to the minute styles of the last ten years, as well as the '9Os, '80s, '70s, '60s............... We can either work on existing tracks you have created elsewhere, or build a whole new track, and can offer help with instrumentation, arranging, recording, synthesized additions, effects, mixing and mastering. The Music Production Course, sometimes called the Studio Engineering Experience, costs £199.75 for five hours of one-to-one tuition and fun. The Music Production Workshop, which is carried out at a variety of levels, from basic to advanced, is one of the core activities offered at the Beehouse. Shaped so that you can derive maximum benefit, no matter what your previous experience or standard, it can encompass recording and production techniques, a Cubase experience or Cubase workshop for those with no or some knowledge, and the development of a variety of sound engineering and music skills. If you wish, real instruments may be recorded. You can add real bass, drums, guitar, piano, keyboards, strings, all to your personal taste, with the skilled help of our production specialist, who will also play in lines for you if required. Alternatively, the day may focus on computer generated production, the use of samples, loops and synthesised sounds. The day is plotted out in advance between the engineer producer running the session and the customer, and culminates in the production of a CD. Music production workshops are semi-professional and aim to be fun but insightful introductions to the real world of studio recording. It makes a great gift for a bedroom music-maker, but is also of great interest for someone with experience and more specific interests. Taster courses are also often tailored to provide a great introduction for someone with no recording experience whatsoever, still producing a commercially recorded CD of what has been produced at the end of the day. In order to arrange for a music production day, please contact the studio to arrange a date and then make your booking below. The standard five hour music production day costs £199.75, please enquire if you want to book more time.
