The Beehouse maintains an immaculate and also highly efficient standard in a wide variety of recording and production techniques.
Professional sessions are booked by hours or days. As a rule of thumb, a five hour day costs £200, which represents extremely good value considering the quality of the end product. A session involving drums is usually 5 hours minimum as is a songwriter day. A songwriting course or a music production course is £199.75 for 5 hours.
With longer professional recording and production, it's always worth calling for an individual quote. Professional use of the studio entitles you to the use of all the hardware and software on our technical page with the exception of the video and PA equipment. Terms and conditions of studio use are available here for your perusal.
The minimum session is usually 3 hrs, but we are sometimes able to offer one and two hours for very small projects, finishes and edits. Additional hours after the end of a project are usually at £40. VAT is not currently charged. To book a recording session, a reservation payment may be made instead of the full amount, with the balance payable in cash or by card on the day.
Our recording studio experiences which provide a professional quality service for newbies or inexperienced recording artists come with vouchers which are valid for a year. The minimum experience voucher is for three hours - this can be shared with three others, and cannot be used for bands which require min 6 hrs and drummers or songwriting days, which are 5 hrs plus.
Live recording or location recording costs vary depending on the scale of the project More....
Recording studio reservation payment - £100 per day booked
If you want to book, but complete your payment at the end of your session, we are very happy with this arrangement. The cost of doing this is £100 per day booked, with the balance owed payable in cash or by credit card on or before the day. Reserve
Band bookings - 6 hrs= £250
Band bookings are £250 for a six hour day, due to the lengthy setup often necessary. Bands can be recorded live but we usually prefer layering as it provides a more pleasing effect generally. Rehearsal before the event therefore is essential to get the best value for money. Buy
The cost of a demo depends clearly on how many tracks you want to record, and the complexity of them - whether you are a band, a solo artist, or what production is required. In addition, if you are going to have a hand in the production this can take longer. A demo can be recorded in a couple of days - sometimes the actual recording may only take a day but then the mixing and editing may take a while longer. We have a considerable experience of demo recording at the studio in a variety of genres. For a quote or an estimate, please contact the studio by email, giving the details of your project. A phone call can then clarify the project.
If a demo is difficult to guesstimate, then an album is virtually impossible. Again, some albums are recorded live and put together relatively quickly, so are produced after they are recorded to develop the genre and add more complex instrumentation. The Beehouse has recorded a large number of albums over the years in a variety of genres. Ideally to have an idea of costs you should record one of the tracks, at which point a deal could be struck about the remainder within certain parameters. As above our daily rate is around £200 for a recording engineer producer, reducing over time.
The songwriter workshop is a day spent developing your original material from a basic format into a commercial track with its own style. Suitable equally for singer songwriters and those without musical training, it's a tried and tested way of laying down and instrumenting your track in the style your conceived it in. An exciting and rewarding day involving elements of arrangement and production. This is also available under the Community Scheme at a reduced rate. More......
